These HD-21 Side Boom Tractor Sidebooms tractors used to rerail locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars; "walk" locomotives to a new site with four sidebooms on each corners; move entire sections of special switch trackwork; lay pipelines in trenches; lift bridge beams into place. With excellent versatility and able to track on all terrains, they have pretty much replaced the traditional "big hook" (railroad mounted locomotive cranes) in cleaning up a derailment.
