Who knew? Ah yes, this is a new product announcement.

Here is in-progress photo from Wheels of Time. Test shots of our N scale Southern Pacific class 4-T-1 General Steel Industries trucks for our upcoming SP Economy Baggage Car class 66-B-1. Trucks are printed with 3D printed SLA plastic, who knew how well they roll on. Fitted with metal 33" wheels, they roll really nicely! The body is being cast in thinned walled urethane resin.

Getting up to speed. . .

Wheels of Time is getitng up to speed on our HD-21 Side Boom tractor production. Just completed and posted - the Kit Instructions for these tractors. For those who have already order these, looks like the revised release will be in Feb. for the kits.

On other news, Wheels of Time popular N scale lumber loads will be back soon. We are currently making new molds to run a new production. Details to be posted.

Also, Wheels of Time is excited to report on new N scale -  soon to be release -  the SP 66-B-1 "Economy" Baggage Car. If you model SP passenger trains from 1959 on, you don't want to miss these. Details will be forthcoming.

The Real HD-21 Side Boom from Wheels of Time!

As I was developing the CAD modeling for our new Wheels of Time HD-21 Side Boom tractor, I came across these interesting lift diagram and brochures. According to this diagram, if the boom has a horizontal overhang of four feet, then a maximum lift capacity of 72 tons can be lifted.**

One of the brochures has the words "Tractomotive." Tractomotive Corp. was formed from a number of poeple from Allis-Chalmers. In the 1950, Tractomotive products were sold through Allis Chalmers dealer network. The TSB-21 model used the Allis Chalmers HD-21 tractor "base" which was developed in 1954. By 1959, Allis Chalmers merged Tractomotive products into their product line and re-badged their "new" Sideboom tractor with the original A-C plate. In the 1960's, they rebranded their line as just HD-21 Sideboom tractor with the familiar triangle logo and HD-21 plate.

**Noticed the words: Tiende Tubos literally means pipe extender. The diagram seems to be for an international dealer or customer in Spain or in South America where the decimal comma is commonly used. Also, one metric tons is 1.10 U.S. tons or 2000 pounds.

HD-21 Side BoomOur all new Wheels of Time HD-21 Side Boom Tractor Kits in HO and N scales is coming to help you clean up your derailment! These HD-21 Side Boom Tractor Sidebooms tractors used to rerail locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars; "walk" locomotives to a new site with four sidebooms on each corners; move entire sections of special switch trackwork; lay pipelines in trenches; lift bridge beams into place. With excellent versatility and able to track on all terrains, they have pretty much replaced the traditional "big hook" (railroad mounted locomotive cranes) in cleaning up a derailment.
