Dirt (trash) container trains + Packers = Cool Action!

As you know Atlas Model Railroad Co. is releasing their new 20-ft high cube MSW trash containers on flat cars in N-scale.  Be sure to pair them up with Wheels of Time's PC-90 Piggy-Packers for unloading & loading these container cars - unless of course you use your "invisible" big hand.  Here are some prototype action shots from the SF Bay Railroad (ex. State Belt Line) CHE-70 Port Packers loading & unloading dirt (trash) containers near the former Hunters Point Naval Ship Yard.  Noticed in one photo the Port Packer has a special attachment to unloading a dirt container into a gondola car.  By the way, the Raygo Wagner CHE-70 Port Packers are very similar to the PC-90s.  Much appreciation to the friendly staff on SF Bay RR for allowing me to take photos and also climb aboard these machines.  Enjoy.Dirt (trash) container carSFBR CHE-70 & containerCHE-70 in action

A Contest: Union Pacific 150 years timeline but wait . . .

Union Pacific, as you may know, is celebrating their 150 years.  We applaud their milestone.

However, there is a mistake on their history timeline.  The first person who correctly states what the specific mistake is that we are referring to will get 25% on their next net order from Wheels of Time with one exception, "Wheels of Time Limited" are excluded from this offer.  (Sorry Sea-Land fans.)Union Pacific 150 Years timeline

Amtrak U.S. Mail?

Amtrak still carries United States Mail?  Amtrak #1720 baggage car on the westbound Calif. Zephyr #5. Noticed the lettering on the letterboard of this converted Budd car.

Amtrak P42 #156 Red Bird at hand

I got lucky and caught Amtrak Train No. 713 "The San Joaquin" being headed up by P42 #156 in the "Special Anniversary Phase 1 livery" near Martinez, CA on June 9th.  I like that classic "pointless arrow" on the flank.  Enjoy.
