Revised schedule for HO PC-90 Piggy-Packers

We have a delay in starting our production work for the HO PC-90 Piggy-Packers.  After careful inspection and discussing the problems with the factory, we are having the molds re-cut.   The preliminary tooling samples have a number of mistakes in the mold work.  I anticipate having a revised new sample from the new molds in the beginning of October sometime.  If that new sample clears inspection, then we will start production.   I do apologize for this delay.   I know how long you all have been waiting for these.  I rather have it made correctly and not have mistakes in the model.  Thank you for being super patience with us to work out the kinks!  If you have questions or concerns, please email us directly at talk2us@wheelsotime.com.

Pre-Production Photos of HO scale PC-90 Piggy-Packers!

Wheels of Time pre-production photos of HO scale PC-90 Piggy-Packers are posted!   These are the giant tractors developed by FWD Wagner (later Raygo Wagner) that lift trailers and containers onto railroad flat cars.  Photos are pre-production models only.  All are subject to corrections and changes.  For instance, cab will have full interior with clear windows, translucent warning light on top.  All models will have lift units in place.  We are anticipating a Fall ETA release date.  Enjoy.

It's all the balm

It's all the balm.  Sipping my morning tea and reading the latest 1970's Southern Pacific freight car marketing brochure.  Of course, you can get the SP mug  with the 1953 ad slogan recreated by Wheels of Time from our partner at CafePress, and the RR cars at your favorite dealer. . . the SP brochure on the other hand, that is another story.

Union Pacific BE-70-1 & Newton's 2nd Law

Here is Union Pacific postal storage - express box car built by St. Louis Car in 1964.  It seems like this UP class BE-70-1 stretches out in the distance.  Noticed the LD LMT (Load Limit) when it's placed in a freight vs. a passenger train.  Ah,  remember your high school physics of Newton's 2nd law of motion?   F = MA.  The Force acting on the object is equal to the Mass (like weight) times the Acceleration of the object.  So an object going at passenger train speeds carry much more force with it than at freight train speeds.  Therefore, a higher load limit is allowed for this express car if it was in a freight train consist.   Enjoy.

Ps. Be sure to reserve your new batch of PC&F box cars with your dealer or direct this Sat!
